Action Plan

DAY 1 - Before you speak, wake up empathy

Before you understand, try to understand. In today's exercise, try to stop judging. Try to arrange a conversation in which someone will present you their problem. However, without a clear request, if someone does not ask you for a solution, do not present the list of possibilities. Ask if he wants to hear your opinion, suggestions. If not, do not take it for yourself! Sometimes, and often people just want to talk. They will find the solution themselves. Write in a workbook if it was easy to refrain from being willing to give advice and whether the interlocutors wanted to hear your opinion about their problems.

Day 2 - Good advice is helpful when you are invited to a conversation

In today's exercise you will have to stop your advice and bake three cents to talk. Therefore, try to arrange today's conversation in such a way that, instead of showing that you know everything, it is best to tell about your life experiences in the first person, and not impose the answer and way of life for others. An example of such a message: 'This is a difficult situation. I can only refer to my experience in this field .... Of course, this is just one of the possibilities. ' It sounds much better than often heard 'Have you already totally fooled!'. Write in your workbook how was the reaction of the interlocutors.

Day 3 - Take an example from children and ask

You probably know a situation where you are afraid that you do not have much to say. Well, there is nothing to fear. All you have to do is ask. In today's exercise, try to ask yourself and your interlocutors a few questions. The questions can be different but for simplicity you can use the following:

1. How do you feel and what affects it?

2. Where would you like to find yourself?

3. How did you manage to find / get here?

4. Without which of your current activities cannot you imagine your life?

5. When do you have the most energy during the day?

6. What has been the most satisfying task of an event in your life so far?

7. If everything was possible, what would be more in your life?

8. Can you advise me on how to spend time with my husband, wife, children, friends, mother-in-law?

9. What would you like to do, but are you scared?

10. What was surprising in the last week?

Answers to the above questions try to analyze and describe in your exercise journal. What impact do they have on raising the ability to listen actively?
